Keel

Privacy Policy — Last updated June 2026

Keel is a second-opinion desk that helps you identify suspicious emails, messages, voicemails, and letters. This policy explains what information we handle and how.

What we check — and what we never share

When you submit something for review, Keel analyzes it using artificial intelligence. For email checks, only the sender's address and any web links are sent to external security databases (VirusTotal). The content of your messages is never transmitted to any third party.

What we do not collect

Voicemail recordings

When you upload a voicemail recording, the audio is sent to OpenAI's Whisper service for transcription, then immediately discarded. The resulting text transcript is analyzed by Keel and is not retained after you close the app.

Caller ID and phone numbers

If you optionally enter a caller's phone number, it may be checked against publicly available scam-reporting databases. It is not stored after the check is complete.

Analytics

Keel does not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not track how you use the app.

Children

Keel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above. Continued use of Keel after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
